Lugogo to host World Islamic weightlifting event

Members of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Committee (ISSF) coordination group have approved the MTN Arena at Lugogo as venue for an international weightlifting competition due March 27-April 4.

The second World Islamic Weightlifting Federation Championships will have several elite athletes battling for glory in different events.

ISSF coordination group members –– Ashraf Sayed Abdellotif of Egypt and Uganda’s Lanny Kimbowa inspected the Lugogo facility before giving their approval. They were accompanied by Uganda Weightlifting Federation and National Council of Sports officials
