THE National University Sports Federation of Uganda (NUSFU) has started investigations on Nkumba University’s petition that Kampala University (KU) used ineligible players in last month’s Inter University Games at Uganda Christian University, Mukono.

An independent committee of three people that was set up by NUSFU is reviewing the appeal.

“There is a committee making investigations on this petition. When they are done, we shall make a ruling,” Vicent Kisenyi vice president NUSFU stated.

It’s alleged that KU used players on their ladies handball team who were not bona fide students at the institution.

“We have the evidence that KU used two high school students from Kenya,” Patrick Sebuliba, a Nkumba official said, adding that the said players were spotted at the East African Secondary Schools championship in August last year in Lira.
