Uganda kick-boxing Federation Secretary Eddie Gombya has cautioned Ronald Mugula not to under estimate his Egyptian opponent when the meet this evening for the world kickboxing title defense at Freedom city in Namasuba.
Gombya who witnessed Abdullah Hessen Mundo train at Mt. Zion Hotel said that the Egyptian looks very focused to capture the title that Mugula won after beating Hungarian Andras Nagy (the late) in Kampala in November.
“I have seen him in the World Championship in Iran twice and he is a very good fighter. I have also picked the training guards this morning as he made the punching drills and I found him with very strong punches that Mugula has to take care of," Gombya stated.
I just advise Mugula to keep rotating in the ring otherwise this boy is a good boxer and kicker,” Gombya added.“
He added that Mugula asked the federation to match him with a strong African fighter for his defense so that the home supporters can enjoy the fight that is why spotted Mundo.
Gombya however added that Mugula has to make use of his experience as an added tool to silence the challenger.
“He is good and I want the best to challenge me. He has declared under age but I know he won’t go beyond the third round unless he performs better than his ability,” said Mugula who had a light training since Monday.
