Makerere University secures rugby title

MAKERERE University regained the rugby title after beating defending champion Kyambogo University 17-0 in the Inter-University Games

MAKERERE University regained the rugby title after beating defending champion Kyambogo University 17-0 in the Inter-University Games on Wednesday.
 
The champions bagged the title after going unbeaten with 16 points after outclassing UCU, Kyambogo, MUBS and Nkumba universities.
Hosts UCU finished in second place with 12 points as the one-week event entered the business end.
 
In tennis, UCU’S top gun David Oringa beat Charles Wanyama of Makerere in the semi-finals.

The win pits him in the final against defending champion Steven Komakech of Ndejje University in the men’s singles.
 
Defending women’s volleyball champion Ndejje, will continue their quest for the title after they qualified for the semis finals. Ndejje face Makerere while UCU battle Nkumba.                      
 
In women’s football, She Cranes U20 star Ritah Kivumbi scored four goals as Uganda Christian University thumped Kyambogo 4-0.
