Besigye, Lukwago get criminal summons

Former FDC party president Dr Kizza Besigye, and opposition politician Erias Lukwago, have been issued with criminal summons for failing to appear in court on charges related to the outlawed 4GC (For God and My Country) group.

Buganda Road Court, Kampala Grade One Magistrate Simon Kintu issued criminal summons, requiring the politicians to appear in court on December 19.

The duo had earlier been ordered to appear in court Tuesday.

Lukwago was on November 25 impeached as Kampala Lord Mayor by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) councillors.

However, neither of the two politicians was present.They also did not have  legal representation from lawyers, a requirement  expected for court appearance.
