Mukono teacher held over defilement

Court in Mukono district has remanded to Luzira prison a 24-year-old primary teacher who allegedly defiled four of his pupils.

Court in Mukono district has remanded to Luzira prison a 24-year-old primary teacher who allegedly defiled four of his pupils.

Christopher Ssemutono, a teacher at Dynamic Junior Primary School in Sonde village, Goma Division in Mukono District appeared before Magistrate Mackay Opolot. He was charged with aggravated defilement.

 Court on Tuesday heard that Ssemutono allegedly defiled four of his pupils below 7 years from 2012 until November 2013 when he was arrested.

It is alleged that Ssemutono used to call these pupils from their classes to the office where he allegedly had sexual intercourse with them at different intervals during prep time.

Opolot sent Ssemutono to remand to Luzira prison until December 12 as investigations in his case goes on.
