Lions attack Masindi village

Fourteen goats and two cows have been killed by lions in Pakanyi Sub County in Masindi district. Pakanyi Sub County boarders Murchison falls National Park.

Fourteen goats and two cows have been killed by lions in Pakanyi Sub County in Masindi district. Pakanyi Sub County boarders Murchison falls National Park.


The lions attacked the villages of Kihaguzi and killed goats belonging to James Ringiwegi.

In Kidwera village, two cows belonging to James Kyamanywa were also killed by the lions which are still roaming the area.

William Kyomya the LCIII Chairperson, Pakanyi confirmed the incident.

“We are still in fear since the lions have not been captured by the Uganda Wild Life Authority (UWA) rangers. They came and confirmed the lion’s presence but failed to get them,” Kyomya said.
 He said there are three lions, two adults and a cub.
