Cinema Magic at Metroplex Mall in Naalya and Cineplex Hub, Oasis Mall, Friday (today) get to go neck-and-neck premiering one of the most anticipated movies of the season: Thor: The Dark World.

And both movie houses are showing it in 3D. Who gets to have the biggest share of the pie doesn’t really matter, does it?

What does matter is that the superhero Thor, whom girls love and boys want to be like, is back. And movie superhero fans are always excited to have their own back. With a star-studded treat putting Chris Hemsworth (Thor) together with big names like Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman among others, not even the sky is the limit. 

In the comic-book adventure, the hammer-wielding god of thunder Thor returns to battle Malekith (Christopher Eccleston), the bitter ruler of a prehistoric race that is intent on destroying the Nine Realms of the world.

With even the respected elder Odin (Anthony Hopkins) unable to help, Thor teams up with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) in a bid to pull off the ultimate sacrifice deemed to save the world. But what is at stake?

“With solid, likable lead acting and brisk pace, viewers will be rewarded with thrilling and surprisingly funny moments in an overstuffed plot with numerous shortcomings,” write film critics.
