Students at Kyambogo University have welcomed the return of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaiah Omolo Ndiege office as a hero.

Prof. Ndiege’s return follows a court ruling which quashed an earlier decision reached by the University Council dismissing Ndiege.

Justice Wilson Masalu Musene argued in his ruling that the Council’s reason for removing Ndiege from office and sending him on forced leave was premature since investigations into the alleged mismanagement of the University were incomplete.

However, some university management officials locked up their offices after seeing cheering students welcoming back Ndiege in the university compound.

Ndiege’s office remained closed with padlocks as he sat in the acting vice chancellors’ office waiting for someone to open for him.

The Vice Chancellor has been out of office for about a year.
