All roads Saturday lead to the first ever Pakasa Forum debate at Kampala Parents School auditorium. Organised by Vision Group to tackle the challenges of employment, the debate will be from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

According Vision Group’s head of marketing, Susan Nsibirwa, over 800 people are expected to attend. Those upcountry and in the diaspora will participate through the company’s radio stations, social media sites and website by sending in questions and comments. The debate will be broadcast live. “It is going to be a learning opportunity for all who will attend and will mark the way forward to tackling the issue of unemployment among our youth,” Nsibirwa said.

The forum is aimed at explaining to people, particularly the youth, the opportunities that exist in our economy. It will be addressed by prominent Ugandans, who according to Vision Group chief executive officer Robert Kabushenga, “know where opportunities for earning a living are and will explain them to the public.”

They are Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi, Phillip Odera (managing director of Stanbic Bank), Richard Byarugaba ( managing director National Social Security Fund) and Mazen Mroué, (chief executive officer of MTN Uganda). Others are Jennifer Musisi (executive director of Kampala Capital City Authority), Bruce Robertson (South African agricultural produce dealer in Uganda) and Pagril Marino, a young wrought iron fabricator, whose story New Vision featured in the original Pakasa Youth Awards in 2011.
