Efforts to further professionalise the procurement practice in Uganda are on track, Dr. Gabriel Ajedra, the finance state minister has said.

“Professionals are being consulted for their contribution on developing the National Public Sector Procurement Policy. Once this is developed and implemented, the law will be passed,” he said.

Speaking at the opening of a regional procurement conference in Entebbe, Ajedra said once the law is passed, procurement practitioners will now be at the level of other professionals like engineers, lawyers and accountants.
