IGAD ministers arrive for Karamoja meet

Ministers from Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan are in Kampala for a high-level meeting on Karamoja to be held today Monday.

Ministers from Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan are in Kampala for a high-level meeting on Karamoja to be held today Monday.
 
The meeting is intended to harmonise and strengthen interventions aimed at restoring peace in the Karamoja cluster that is shared by the four countries.
 
The cluster comprises areas that share similar climatic conditions and normadic way of life-pastoralism.
 
Kenya's cabinet secretary and interior minister, Ole Lenku; Ethiopia's state minister, Omod Obang Olom; South Sudan's minister for foreign affairs and internal cooperation minister, Dr Barnabas Marial Benjamin, have arrived.
 
The First Lady and minister for Karamoja Affairs, Janet Museveni will open the meeting and deliver a keynote address at the event.
