Youngsters to help child cancer patients

A group of Ugandan youngsters studying from America have taken compassionate steps to give a helping hand to the needy child cancer patients in different hospitals in Uganda.

A group of Ugandan youngsters studying from America have taken compassionate steps to give a helping hand to the needy child cancer patients in different hospitals in Uganda.
 
From the Open Window School Bellevue, Washington the children visited Mulago Cancer Institute, interacted with patients as they found out the challenges they face, a basis to enable them solicit material support from Various American child support organisations especially the church founded to better the lives of local victims.
 
Tendo Lumala 8, Ssuubi Lumala 10, Ricky 13, Mukisa Lumala 14 also interacted with the Namagunga Hope Cancer Club and the management of  House of Hope Uganda to chat out a possible partnerships on how to enhance care for the child patients.
 
The good Samaritans were concerned that there is severe lack of safe drinking water, some patients lack appropriate clothing, some children were energetic but were not involving themselves in games because of the absence of game materials.
 
They donated a range eats like fruits and eggs, water to the children and promised that by the beginning of December this year, they will have accumulated a heavier package that will be delivered to the patients.
 
The Americans spent time teaching patients how to play chess. Mukisa observed that most of them had developed profound love for the game.
 
“We used a number of instruction materials and chess boards donated to us by the Chess4Life founder Elliot Neff, we may ask him for more support towards cancer patients for them to engage in this friendly sporting activity, we are also looking for establishing a mobile library for them” he said.
