CRANES coach Micho Sredojevic has named 22 uncapped players as part of a provisional 31 man squad that will begin training for an international friendly against Iraq.
This friendly, initially scheduled for July in Ebril in the run up to Cranes’ CHAN qualifiers against neighbours Tanzania, will now be played on October 2nd.
It was cancelled after world football governing body FIFA slapped a ban against hosting international matches in the war torn country.
With one eye on the Championships that will be played in South Africa early next year, Micho has handed a chance to players like Martin Elungat, Timothy Musimbuzi, Simon Okwi and Francis Olaki who have enjoyed a fine start to the Super League season.
The squad will be trimmed before they fly out to Iraq.
