KCC FC has finished second in group C with six points of the CECAFA Kagame cup after their win against Malakia FC Saturday afternoon in Dar es Salaam.

On his debut Isaac Sserunkuuma scored the lone goal for KCCA to beat South Sudanese side Al Malakia 1 – 0 in the Group C clash at the National Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam to secure a quarter final slot in CECAFA Kagame Cup tournament.

KCCA FC midfielder Tom Masiko should have done better with a half chance he was presented with on the second minute but he took too long to pull the trigger and was tackled on the edge of the box and his resulting kick was too weak to trouble the Malakia keeper Kennedy Santolino.

Another good opening was in the eighth minute when Dennis Okot delivered a fine cross from the right  but Shaban Kondo rose well to head but his header was went perfectly in the keepers hands Santolino who punched it out.

KCCA efforts finally paid off on the 14th minute Hakim Senkumba released a defence splitting pass to Isaac Sserunkuma and the striker raced in well to beat the Malakia offside trap to put the ball in the net.

Martin Mpuga missed a header and also was lucky to escape with just a yellow card as he had a dangerous tackle on Yengo Son Ngum.

Malakia started getting to the game and threatening. On the 34th minute the KCCA keeper Opio Emmanuel went off his line but missed Stephen Dada’s corner

Samuel Ssekamatte missed a chance for the Sudanies when he got a through ball but the he  hit the ball wide.

Senkumba also missed a glorious chance after Kondo did well to pick him out in a crowded box but the midfielder’s shot from close range was kept out by Santolino before the keeper recovered to smother the danger.

KCCA FC now waits for the last group game to know who they play in the quarter finals.

Azam FC top the group with nine points after their thrash of helpless Adama City of Ethiopia 5-0 in the second game of the day.
