KCCA FC assistant manager Sam Ssimbwa is optimistic that his striking force will be as good as they can be before the team leaves for the CECAFA Kagame Cup Championship scheduled for July 18-August 2.
Ssimbwa was reacting to the lethargic form exhibited by his strikers during the team’s buildup matches.
“We create so many chances but at times we fail to score. I am confident before we leave for Tanzania all our weakness will be worked on,”Ssimbwa stated.
KCCA FC is drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania’s Azam FC, Malakia (South Sudan) and Adama City (Ethiopia). KCCA FC’s opening fixture is against Azam FC on July 19 while three days later they will take on Adama City before winding up with Malakia FC on July 25
The Lugogo side that is already in camp at Mandela Hotel in Bweyogerere, Wakiso will play the Kobs today before they travel to Tanzania the following day.
Last year KCCA was eliminated by Sudan giants Al- Merrikh 3-0 in penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time at the semifinal stage.
