The She Cranes currently preparing for the Netball World Cup slated for August 7-16 in Sydney, Australia will take a break off their daily training program to take part in a car wash drive at Game Shopping Mall at Lugogo on Saturday.

The team residing at Materwood Hotel in Namugongo have been training at GEMS Cambridge International School at Butabika, Luzira.

According to the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF) Secretary Annet Kisomose, the drive is intended to raise funds for the player’s upkeep.

“We are grateful that government helped us clear the biggest part of the budget for the world cup but we didn’t want to continue burdening them that’s why we thought of another way of raising player’s upkeep,” Kisomose said.

“They are ladies and may need to make their hair and other female necessities and yet the federation has no funds to take care of all that,” she added.

She Cranes skipper Peace Proscovia will lead the drive that UNF is expected to raise sh50,000 from each car.
