BEN Lukwago finally rode his luck to win the Mr Kampala body building title contest held at Mt. Zion Hotel on Sunday.
The Be Active gym-middle weight muscleman took advantage of the absence of former winner Rashid Kassim and Ivan Byekwaso to beat five other finalists and bag his third title in fourteen years.
Kassim did not compete while Byekwaso absconded ‘to give others a chance’. He has won it four times previously.
Lukwago who was runner up in the 2005 and 2007, 2011 and 2012 Mr Uganda and Mr Kampala championships has the Mr Junior champion won in 2001 and the Inter-club championship he won last year.

En-route to the title Lukwago had beaten Joel Byron, Peter Mudhasi and Sam Khaloja the three finalists in the middle weight category.
"I've been dreaming about this for a long time and I have kept working. I will now work more on my legs, and biceps in order to win the Mr Uganda title too. I will continue to watch my diet and may be use supplements as well to generally improve my body" Lukwago said after being crowned.
Lukwago's back poses and experience made the difference as Iron Kingdom gym’s Robert Yiga front poses (Lat spread ,double biceps, abdominal and legs) poses looked better. Yiga finished second.
But the crowd’s favourite was Ali Katamba who finished fourth. Katamba of Iron Kingdom gym wowed the crowd that filled the hall with an infectious smile as he wiggled and flexed his muscles.

Next month the musclemen will fight for the Mr. Uganda title ahead of the Musclemania championship that will follow thereafter.
