The Federation of Africa University Sports led by its President Dr. Malumbete Ralethe and Secretary General, Peninah Kabenge has praised the spirit of sportsmanship by the African delegations and level of organization exhibited by the organizers of the ongoing 28th World University Games in Gwangju, Korea.

Dr. Ralethe said that African countries will live to remember these games because the organizers have raised the bar too high. The facilities we are using and the competition our athletes are being exposed to is world class and a dream for most of our students.

He also expressed gratitude to FISU for aiding University sports in Africa, and encouraged Africa to work harder to bring more exposure to Young athletes because this will not just enhance performance and participation but will also make them better adults and human beings.

Dr. Ralethe said this while watching the final group match for Uganda's women basketball team against Brazil. Despite the size difference, Uganda put up a spirited fight as they posted 59 points against Brazil's 93 at the Yeonggwang sportium center.

"It's not only about the numbers and results, we are giving our very own exposure and I am proud seeing them play with all their hearts out and flying the African colors." Said Dr. Ralethe.

The African contingent has a size able number with over 48 countries in participation. Uganda is participating in the Basketball event for the 1st time, which also doubles as the FIBA Under 25 World Championship.
