After winning last year's Eskom Golf Tournament and enjoying all the benefits that come with it, Ronald Otile is gunning for another victory as the tournament tees off on Friday at Jinja Club.

The 19-year old national team player has spent a week in Jinja ahead of the tournament and is determined to win it again.

"The course is in very good shape and it is up to me and other players to put our act together in order to win it, but I feel I can defend it," Otile said as he went for another practice round on the nine-hole course on Thursday.

"My strategy is to go for pars, if a birdie comes along the way I will take it," Otile said.

But Otile is warry of Jinja Club's Grace Kasango and Ismail Muhmood who he has trained with for the past three days and who he says; have been returning good scores.

With the cast of other national team players that include Adolf Muhumuza, Ronald Rugumayo, Lawrence Muhenda, Ronnie Bukenya, Dan Baguma among others aslo in the fray, it might be won by one who comes out mentally stronger.

Gerald Kabuye, Abbey Bagalana, Becca Mwanja and a host of other golfers from Kampala also arrived yesterday ready for the challenge.

Winning Jinja Golf Club's flagship annual tournament comes with a brand new golf kit bag and a one-year sponsorship for golf activities around the country and around the East African region.

The two-day tournament tees off with the gross category players and professionals in action over 36 holes before the subsidiary event tomorrow that is expected to attract 150 golfers.
