The Uganda Cranes football team will play Gambian at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Tuesday in preparations for the Africa Nations Cup qualifier on Saturday June 13.

The Gambian team that jetted in on Sunday trained at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Monday.

Uganda Cranes open their 2017 Africa Nations Cup Group D qualifier with a home match against Botswana on Saturday, June 13.

Head coach Mulitin 'Micho' Sredejovic said that two friendly matches against the Scorpions of Gambia will be sufficient to gauge his Cranes for the game against Botswana Zebras.

The last time Uganda Cranes met Botswana, they humbled the Zebras 3-1 in an international friendly away in Gaborone in 2013.

Uganda is grouped together with Burkina Faso, Botswana and Comoros.

Gambia hope to use the two friendly matches with the Uganda Cranes to prepare for their AFCON qualifier against South Africa on Saturday, June 13.

The 2017 qualifiers will have 13 groups, each with four teams. The group winners and two best overall runner-ups will qualify for the tournament.
