The Norwegian Embassy in Uganda has established a visa application center to improve the quality of services to Ugandan nationals and nationals of third countries with residence permits in Uganda

The Norwegian Embassy in Uganda has established a visa application center to improve the quality of services to Ugandan nationals and nationals of third countries with residence permits in Uganda.


According to a statement from the Norwegian embassy in Kampala, the visa application services started yesterday Monday June 1.

“The Visa application center will be opened in an effort to improve the quality of services to Ugandan nationals of third countries with residence permit in Uganda who wish to travel to Norway and other Schengen countries that Norway represents,” read the statement.

The statement further states that the visa application center will make the process more efficient and provide the application with better services through reduced waiting time, better accessibility large opening hours and offering of additional services.

In its statement, the embassy stated that the visa application center will only receive applications and supporting documents on behalf of the embassy and forward all documents to the embassy for processing.

“Holders of diplomatic and official passport s who submit their applications under cover of a note verbal for official purpose may continue to submit their applications to the Norwegian embassy in Akii-Bua road,” the statement read in parts.

The embassy however stated that; “the decision in the visa cases will still be made by the embassy alone”.
