Sports journalists have been urged to observe professionalism and ethics while conducting their duties in their respective media houses.


"We must exercise professionalism, be ethical and also have collective responsibility as far as USPA matters are concerned," the Uganda Sports Press Association President, Sabiiti Muwanga said.

He meade the appeal on Monday at the Nile Special-USPA monthly meeting at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala where the members unanimously voted for the Golf team as the Nile Special sports Personality for the month of April.

The national senior golf team won the 21st edition of the Zone 6 Africa championship last month at Kitante Golf Club.

To win the title, the team overcame Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi, Namibia and defending champion  South Africa who had won the trophy 19 times.

USPA also commended Arthur Ssegwanyi who won the Zone 4.2 Africa Chess Championship, Patidar Samaj cricket club that won the National Men's T20 League and Kololo Secondary School that won their maiden Girls Schools Cricket week title.

Last week, USPA hosted the Nile Special USPA Gala, AIPS President Gianni Merlo and the East African Convention.

The USPA activities are supported by Nile Special, Standard Chartered Bank, Brussels Airlines, City Tyres, Imperial Royale Hotel and Rwenzori Water.
