There are few new faces on Moses Magogo’s executive. The incoming FUFA boss has mainly gone for people he has been working with on the outgoing team.

Anthony Kimuli, who has been in charge of the federation’s coffers, will in the new executive serve as first vice president. Justus Mugisha is second vice president.

Magogo is fronting Mujib Kasule (right) as vice president in charge of the Uganda Premier League. He will however have to compete against Tadeus Kitandwe and Jimmy Lukwago.

Regional representatives are : Hamid Juma (Kampala), Abbas Sendyowa (Western), Sam Mpiima (Buganda), Patrick Ogwel (Mid North), Sam Lwere (Eastern), Patrick Ochom (North Eastern), Lasul Aliga(North) and Rogers Byamukama (Kitara) and Mariam Kaliga (Women).

The proposed new team takes office on August 31 at the federation’s general assembly at the FUFA technical center in Njeru. Magogo will next week launch his manifesto.

Magogo beat the other would be contestants in Kampala Member of Parliament Muhammad Nsereko and Internal Security Organization Deputy Director Taban Amin after they failed to satisfy the requirements.

Nsereko and Amin were lacking in a qualification that required one to have served as an executive of a major football body for a minimum of seven years.

Magogo, a FIFA instructor, to the contrary has served on the FUFA executive for eight years. He was on the federation’s competitions committee before being elevated to vice president.

“All the three aspirants met the age, nationality and academic requirements but Magogo was the only one with the required football qualifications,” explained FUFA Electoral Commission chairman Patrick Okanya.
