Kampala Capital City Authority deputy director for public health, Dr Daniel Okello, has said they have so far licensed three private companies under which other willing private companies can affiliate to do the garbage collection business.

He said that they have divided Kampala into seven zones whose garbage collection will be managed by Nabugabo up deal (two zones); Home clean services (two zones ) and Kampala solid waste consortium (three zones).

"We have already set minimum fees such as sh3000 for the deep slums and local areas up to sh30,000 maximum for the urban centers," explained Dr. Okello.

He said that to avoid over charging people, these private companies will not pay any premium to KCCA and it will take KCCA six months of transition to sensitise people about the new system.
