Ugandans are starting to really like wine according to Allan Ntanda, owner of the Wine Garage, who opened the third branch of his franchise last Friday at Shumuk House (formerly Blacklines House) on Colville Street.

“Wine lovers in the Central Business District can now steal away to savour their favourite wines whilst grabbing a bite and enjoying light music,” Ntanda said.

Starting at dusk, it turned out to be a modest affair with the pomp characteristic of most launch nights only manifested in the bottles of wine the sommelier dispatched waiters offered. The light moments were highlighted by the mostly 90’s music played by DJ Modde.

It was a slightly intimate affair graced by wannabe connoisseurs, curious patrons, businessmen, models and anyone else who had a taste for fine wine.true                          Geusts that graced the launch

The wine outlet also houses Café Kawa which serves light dishes and beverages among others.

A range of French, Spanish, Australian, and South African wines with a selection of international liquor brands will be available at the spot. The original branch of Wine Garage is in Muyenga, while the other is in Entebbe.
