Ndejje University and rivals Uganda Christian University (UCU) A sides are out to battle for the top table position as the first round of the inaugural MK Academy Badminton League climaxes on Friday at Victory City Church in Ntinda, Kampala.

The two sides, both potential title contenders will be meeting in the final fixture games of the league this evening.

Daniel Mihigo's UCU side and Shamim Bangi's side Ndejje are both tied at 15 points in first and second positions respectively and Friday's game will determine which team finishes top.

"We have not lost a game this season and we are not ready for any disappointments especially at the last minute," UCU's Mihigo said.

But Mihigo's statement has not demoralized Bangi's side who also claimed that the Luwero squad is the strongest in the league.

"Words cannot change a thing, we just need to go on court, play and the best team will be determined thereafter," she said.

The Mukono based side is likely to place Mihigo against Luwero's Herbert Ebayo in the men's singles while Brenda Nabusindo is scheduled to take on Bangi in the women singles.

Others on UCU's lineup include Davis Senono, Marvin Kyambadde, Jovan Kyambadde, Jovia Komuhendo, Radhika Ghelani and Doris Namugwana.

Meanwhile Ndejje's lineup has others like Jacob Musisi, Ian Ssenoga, Aisha Nakiyemba and Mable Namakoye scheduled for the doubles.

In the other games Kampala University will be up against Kampala Badminton Club and Entebbe respectively.
