Dr. Patrick Ludoi Mutono has been sworn in as the Butebo county MP, Pallisa district after the seat fell vacant following the death of its occupant Dr. Stephen Mallinga in April this year.

“We serve Ugandans through political parties, we are courteous to all others, follow the rules and practice to observe the dignity of Parliament,” Mbabazi said.

Nandala Mafabi, leader of the opposition in Parliament told Mutono to remember he was not voted by all voters in the constituency but he should serve all of them. “Look after our people, we people in the east are marginalized,” Mafabi said.

Rebecca Kadaga speaker of Parliament who presided over Mutono’s swearing in welcomed him to the House and handed him a copy of the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of Parliament.

Kadaga said she expected that next year many MPs would be involved in elections issues, and called on legislators to concentrate on Parliament business this year and complete their work.
