Prince David Wassajja has urged Ugandans to join hands and support the Kabaka's birthday run that takes place on April 12.

Wassajja made the appeal at the Nile Special Uganda Sports Press Association monthly awards dinner at Imperial Royale Hotel where Steven Kiprotich was crowned USPA sportsman of Febuary 2015.

Proceeds from the event will be used to fight the fitsula problem in the country. Every runner is expected to pay sh10000. Registration is going on at Vision Group head office in Kampala, Bulange Mengo and at the Airtel office on Ben Kiwanuka Street.

"If you cannot run, at least call on others to run so that we are able to fight Fistula," he added.

Meanwhile Stephen Kiprotich has promised to defend his World Championship and Olympic marathon titles. Kiprotich also requested Prince David Wasajja to help facilitate him to meet the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi.

"I have been looking forward to meeting him. You are the first royal (Wassajja) I have met and  I would like to request that you give me the opportunity to meet him," said Kiprotich after receiving the Nile Special-USPA sportsman of February award from Wasajja, who was the chief guest at the dinner.
