MP Isiko: I have never defiled my daughter

Busiki County MP Isiko Mpongo has dismissed allegations that he defiled his daughter.

“I have never defiled my daughter. There has never been a complaint against me to the police to this effect. I am concerned about these allegations,” the MP said in a personal statement to the House chaired by Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga, on Thursday afternoon.

His reaction comes after media reports that Police were investigating Mpogo over incestuous defilement several times.

In his defence on the floor of the House, Mpongo said:  “The allegations were made by her grandmother and aunties. We are all aware that this is a sensitive time for all politicians; any negative information can cost one's reputation. I will follow up on the rape allegations in the courts of law, and i will defend my reputation as a politician.”
