The Saints remained strong at the top of the FUFA Big League after seeing off Hope Doves at Namboole on Saturday.

The hosts stretched their lead over second-placed Water FC to seven points.

New signing Musana Hassan scored from a free-kick at the edge of the box. The ball blasted past the defence wall and into the back of the net.

The Saints had proved dominant in the first half and the 40th minute goal made it more difficult for the visitors.

Home striker Fred Kyambadde was replaced by Saadi Kibirango soon after restart.

Despite other changes during the remaining minutes, the Hope Doves failed to find a way through.

Saints won, but their coach Mark Twinomasiko felt it was a below-par performance against a mid-table team.
