UGANDANS got off to a shaky start in the $10,000 (Ush26m) professional event of the Burundi Golf in Bujumbura as Kenyans took charge.
Kenyans Dismas Indiza and Davicd Waku tied at the top with two under par 69, one stroke clear of Rwanda Jean Baptist Hakizimana.
Emma Opio who put up a decent fight was seventh in the opening round on Monday with 73, four shots off the pace in the 54-holes tournament.
Deo Akope who shared eighth place with Kenyan Richard Ainley at 74 appeared resigned already.
“The greens are a problem, we have failed to adjust,” Akope lamented.
Denis Anguyo, Herman Mutaawe, Ian Odokonyero, George Olayo and Vincent Byamukama were outside the top 10.
The second round of the tournament that ends on Thursday was still underway by press time.
