AIGP Shalita''s body arrives

The remains of the departed Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Julius Shalita, have arrived in the country for burial.

The remains of the departed Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Julius Shalita, have arrived in the country for burial.

Shalita, a decorated long serving policeman, died in New York last Saturday morning where he had been posted as a police attaché in the Uganda Embassy.

The deputy police spokesperson, Polly Namaye told New Vision that a vigil will take place at Shalita’s home in Nsambya Thursday.

A requiem service will take place at All Saints Church Nakasero Friday, she added.

The body will proceed to Nyankukwe village in Mitooma district later on Friday for a vigil at night.

Namaye confirmed the burial will take place on Saturday.
