The UN Secretary-General and the President of the World Bank are in Uganda on official visit.
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Dr. Jim Yong Kim arrived in Uganda after visit to Rwanda and Goma in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The UN chief hailed Uganda for taking up the mantle of ensuring that peace prevails in the Great Lakes region.

“I thank Uganda for making sure that peace returns in Somalia and I will rely on you (Uganda) for the necessary support for a peaceful Somalia,” Ban said.
At a joint news conference held at State House Entebbe, President Yoweri Museveni thanked the World Bank for supporting Uganda’s development programmes geared towards eradicating poverty.
The World Bank chief hailed Uganda for its good financial policies attributing t and the development to prevailing peace.
