The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has cleared defender Joseph Ochaya to play for KCCA.

"The single Judge was eager to emphasize that the present decision regarding the authorization to provisionally register the player for Ugandan club is a provisional measure and, as such without prejudice to any decision as to the substance of any labour dispute between the player, Joseph Ochaya, and the Ghanaian club, Asante Kotoko FC,"FIFA statement read.

The news comes as a boost to the club ahead of the CAF Champions League tie and the second round of the Uganda Premier League.

"We have received his ITC and he is now ready to play for the club," Peter Kibazo told the club website. He added that the defender will only play in CAF encounters after clearance from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Ochaya left KCCA in 2012 for Ghana's Asante Kotoko where he featured for close to two seasons before falling out with the club in 2014.

The matter was later referred to FIFA who has granted him permission to join his former club where he has been training since last year.
