Seals league meets to spice swimming competitions

The Seals Club league meet due February 17 at Kampala Parents School swimming pool will set in motion this year's swimming activities according to the calendar released by the Uganda Swimming Federation.


In a bid to increase on activities and competition among local swimmers, the Seals will organize four local meets, an international one, and two swimming clinics facilitated by coaches from the Swim lab Aquatic Academy of South Africa.

In February the Seals will also compete in a level 1-3 swimming championship in South Africa and the Kenya Swimming Federation Long Course National Championships together with swimmers from the Dolphins Club.

On April 11 the Seals will host their second league meet before competing in the South Africa Senior Championships (April 13-18) followed by more competition in the KSF Junior Championships in Nairobi alongside the Dolphins the following month.

The Seals International invitational gala that will have swimmers from east, central and Southern Africa (June 26-28) will roll off in June, followed by another open swimming clinic facilitated by coaches from South Africa.

Seals' third and fourth league meets will be hosted in August before the Kenya Swimming Federation Short Course championships in Mombasa that will also have Ugandan swimmers in action at the end of October, before the last league meet and awards ceremony by the same club in December.

In between the Seals league meets, Gems Cambridge international school will host the first National Time Trials in February, with the Midland Group Inter-Primary School National Swimming Champs and the National Inter-Secondary School Swimming Champs at Rainbow and National Inter-Secondary School Swimming Championships being held in March.

The Uganda National Open Swimming Championships that will be used to select a team for the Kazan 2015 Championships Masters will be held at Kampala Parents School in April before the CANA Zone IV Swimming Championships in Angola in May. The National Masters Championships will also be held the same month at GEMS Cambridge pool.

Ugandan swimmers will also compete in the National Inter-Club Swimming Championships in June, the 14th USF National Independence Swimming Championships at KISU in October, the Uganda National Open Swimming Championships and National Masters Championships in November among other local and international competitions spread all over the year.
