There is confusion in local sports bodies after expiry of a period within which they were supposed to comply with new regulations.

Government through the Solicitor General last year set new regulations that 50 national bodies were to meet.

But most of the federations, including soccer governing body FUFA, athletics and basketball, were against some of the move.

With only two associations responding, the solicitor general this week directed National Council of Sports to take action.

NCS General Secretary Jasper Aligawesa has confirmed that by refusing to positively respond, the respective bodies rendered themselves non-existent.

But those against the process cite a court order that directed that the regulations first be halted. Court sits again on Tuesday to determine relevance of the regulations.
