Students of Mulago School of Nurses and Midwifery have gone on strike protesting ten months of power blackout.

The over 300 female students claim to have written to the Ministry of Education and the Mulago Hospital management in July last year over their problem but accuse both institutions of turning a deaf ear.

The guild president, Sarah Carol Komuguni said, “we shall not go back to class until power is reconnected. We are determined to push on.”

Mulago and the Education Ministry were yet to respond to the student’s grievances.
