LUKANGA Boxing Club coach Isaac ‘Zebra’ Senyange has promised to deliver fire power in a race for the Intermediates Championship.

“I have assembled a very powerful team which I think can win. It is a hot team of boys which can take on the challenge,” boasted Senyange who led Lukanga to the top during the Cadets Championship in December.

Lukanga was among the over 20 teams at the weigh-in yesterday at Lugogo ahead of the week-long action that gets underway tomorrow.

The Najjanankumbi-based club returned with a bang after snatching victory in the Juniors and youth categories in the Cadets Championship.

The former powerhouse, who ended two years out of action, took an unassailable lead with 30 and 21 points in the youth and juniors categories respectively.

The teams expected to give Lukanga a run for their money include army side UPDF who emerged cham¬pions in the Elite category during the Cadets event.

East Coast, Kampala Boxing Club, COBAP, Police, Kololo High, Ssaku and Katwe are the other teams expected to vie for honours.

The championship which precedes the National Open is part of the road map to the Brazil 2016 Olympic Games, according to Uganda Boxing Federa¬tion secretary Simon Barigo.
