The Information and National Guidance Minister Mary Karooro Okurut has said government is in contact with the Indian governent, following news of an alleged arrest of a former Ugandan minister.
“The Government of Uganda and the Government of India are working closely so that our three citizens can fly out of India and return home. They are not in prison, but in a hotel in Bombay. And the Ugandan embassy has directly written to the Indian government authenticating their documents that they are genuine.”
Karooro also said that the Indian minister for external affairs Salman Khurshid has just concluded a visit to Uganda this week, and the Government of Uganda is in touch with him.
