The General Court Martial Thursday convicted and sentenced to a cautio
n.

Brig. Henry Tumukunde, former head of the Internal Security Organisation on charges of conduct prejudicial to good order and discipline of the defense forces.

The court, presided over by Brig. Fred Tolit, sentenced Tumukunde to ‘severe reprimand’ after acquitting him on charges of spreading harmful propaganda.

Tumukunde was charged under the Uganda People’s Defence Forces Act 2005 on May 2005 following a statement he made on a local FM station in Kampala without the proper authorization of the proper army channels.

Throughout the trial that has been presided over by five court chairpersons since 2005, Tumukunde, who is the former director of Internal Security Organization, has always protested his protracted prosecution.
