Ministry of Works and Transport has allocated funds from its budget for Financial Year 2012/13 for works to improve the conditions of Busolwe - Bubalya - Busabi Road (12.8Km) in Butaleja District with the overall objective of enhancing interconnectivity, accessibility and socio-economic development

1. Ministry of Works and Transport has allocated funds from its budget for Financial Year 2012/13 for works to improve the conditions of Busolwe - Bubalya - Busabi Road (12.8Km) in Butaleja District with the overall objective of enhancing interconnectivity, accessibility and socio-economic development of the rural communities.

2. Ministry of Works and Transport, invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the road rehabilitation works whose scope include site clearance, heavy grading, drainage works, gravelling works.

3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Open Domestic Bidding procedures contained in the Government of Uganda’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect bidding documents from the address given below in No. 8(a) from 9:00 am to 4:00am during working days.

5. The bidder is obliged to visit and examine the site of works, its surroundings and obtain all information that may be necessary for preparing the tender and entering into contract for execution of the works. The cost of visiting the site shall be borne by the bidder.

Failure to submit a site visit certificate duly endorsed by the respective District Local Government Engineer who will lead the site visit shall lead to disqualification of the bid on account of being non responsive.

6. A complete set of Bidding documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a written application to the address below in No. 8.(a) and upon payment of a non refundable fee of UGX 50,000/= (Fifty thousand Uganda Shillings). The method of payment will be through a bank after obtaining a payment advise form from the cash office of Ministry of Works and Transport, The document will be hand picked by the bidders from the address in No. 8(a). No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below in No 8(b). at or before 11:00am on Thursday, 23rd May, 2013. All Bids must be accompanied by a security in form of Uganda Shillings Five Million shillings only (UShs 5,000,000/=) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency as per format in the bid document Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders who will choose to attend at the address below in No. 8(c) at 11:30am on Thursday, 23rd May, 2013.
