Museveni book to hit China market in June

A visiting Chinese professor to Makerere University has written a book about President Yoweri Museveni in Chinese.

A visiting Chinese professor to Makerere University has written a book about President Yoweri Museveni in Chinese.

The 200-page book, which contains a biography of Museveni in pictures will hit the market in China in June this year.

The book, according to Dr. Yu Bin, will be the first on the Asian continent to introduce the Ugandan leader and the country to the ordinary people of China.

Dr. Yu is also the chairman of the Chinese Business Community in Uganda .

Its target readership is the ordinary people of China who have not gotten opportunity to travel to Africa but have heard and read about Uganda and associate it with Idi Amin only.

The photos include pictures of the life of Museveni with family, during the liberation war and with world leaders.

It also has photos of tourist sites, culture of people of Uganda, and activities undertaken by Chinese nationals in Uganda in medical, business and cultural interactions over the last 50 years.

The English version is expected for release in 2014 according to the author.
