Presidential adviser on security issues Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho alias (Salim Saleh) has attributed the recent widely publicized murders in the country and other cases of insecurity to unemployment and lack of effective Local Councils.

Reviving LCs, he said, will help fight insecurity by identifying guns in the wrong hands.

Speaking at the launch of production department at Ngabo Academy of Science and Technology in Mbarara where he sat for his A level exams in 2000, Gen Saleh urged parents to engage their children in productive work.

These, he said, will help the young generation acquire skills to enable them start up their own projects instead of roaming the streets looking for jobs.

He urged the students to stop lamenting about their parents some of whom are dead and instead use the acquired skills to good use for self and national development.

He commended Cap. David Bashaija the proprietor of Ngabo Academy for supporting the children of fallen sons and daughters of the NRAs soldiers many of whom study at the Academy.

Cap. Bashaija requested Saleh to support the Academy’s industrialization project whereby the institution is changing on the syllabus by bringing in vocational trainings which include, welding, Carpentry, Gee and honey making among others.
