FIM-Africa —motocross’ continent governing body —has appointed Zambian Ray Wilson as an observer for Sunday’s Mountain Dew FIM-Africa Central Africa Motocross Championship in Busiika.

The international governing body is aware of the rivarly and tension already boiling between Uganda and Kenya.

FIM-Africa is determined to pull all the necessary stops to ensure that the championship is decided on fair ground.

“This is very good for all competing countries because he (Wilson) is a neutral person and not aligned to any of the four competing countries,” team captain Arthur Blick Jr. stated.

“It is the first time FIMAfrica is sending us a jury president outside the competing teams and I think this is good for the event,” Blick added.

Wilson was the race director when Uganda won the FIM-Africa Motocross Championship at Busiika in 2012. On Saturday, FIM-Africa issued event organisers Uganda Motocross Club (UMX) with a permit to organise the third event on the international motocross calendar.

UMX has already sent out offi cial invitations to Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya. Uganda (1987 points) trails Kenya (2343) with 356 points —a margin Blick Jr. is confi dent his charges can overturn.
