Namirembe diocese Bishop, Rt. Rev. Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira has prayed to God to guide MPs as they scrutinize and debate the Marriage and Divorce Bill.

“This is the time when we need the holy spirit to open the minds of the legislators and all of us to understand  what God says, bearing  in mind that Uganda’s Motto is ‘For God and My Country’,” Luwalira said in Easter Message on Thursday.

Quoting 1 Peter Chapter 1 verse 18 “Jesus paid a ransom to save us from empty life, from a life of self-gratification, a life which has no regard for others, and a life which has no eternal value.”

He appealed to God to open minds of the Ugandan to understand the scriptures, and then we will be able to test what is good, pleasing and perfect.

“Let us understand the mind of God in families, media, economy, government, music and art, religion and education,” said Luwalira.

He also thanked God for having guided Kenya through elections and prayed to God   to guide them through post elections.
