Motorsport fans will, during the Nomi National Motocross championship on Sunday, have a glimpse of the bike that the late Paddy Blick Sr. used to ride.

This will be during a “lap of honour” that will climax the day’s events in Busiika.

The 250cc, 1979 Yamaha YZ model has been reassembled by Speedway Quick Fix Motor Garage and will be ridden by Uganda Olympic Committee president William Blick during the “Lap of honour”.

“We have organised a lap of honour that will have three riders. My dad (Arthur Blick Sr.), Maggie Kigozi and Uncle William Blick (son of the late) who will ride the bike,” Arthur Blick Jr. confirmed.

He further explained that the day’s activities are not limited to the memory of the late Paddy Blick alone but also to encourage Ugandans to support sports development.

The event, the 7th round and second last of the national championship, will also feature guest riders Jurgen Kupper from German and Israeli Aerial Dabia battle Ugandans Maxime Van Pee, Asaf Natan and Blick Jr. in the MX1 class.
