A renowned local artist Kato Lubwama has been hospitalized at Uganda Heart Institute – Mulago after he was diagnosed with triple vessels disease

A renowned local artist Kato Lubwama has been hospitalized at Uganda Heart Institute (UHI), Mulago after he was diagnosed with triple vessels disease.

 

The in charge of the general ward, Madina Nalubega, said his condition was discovered after a coronary angiogram procedure.

 

A coronary angiogram can be used to identify the exact location and severity of coronary artery disease (CAD). Mengo Hospital refered Lubwama to Mulago for specialized treatment.

 

“Lubwama’s condition is not worrying, the moment he gets treatment he will be fine,” Nalubega said.

She said medics have recommended him for Coronary Artery Bypass (CABG) treatment which is supposed to be done in India.

 

Speaking to New Vision at Mulago Hospital, Lubwama who also suffers from diabetes said; he normally gets heart problems when he is stressed and while jogging.

 

“I have been given enough drugs by the experts as I look for money for further treatment in India or USA,” Lubwama revealed.

 

Some of the signs of heart problem include; difficulty in breathing. With this, an individual feels excessively tired, even after doing simple activities.

 

Central chest pain and palpitations (increased heart beat) – This is experienced even when one is resting.
