Kananura out on bail

High Court in Kampala on Monday granted a sh20m cash bail to City businessman Desh Kananura facing murder charges.

He was ordered to deposit his passport with the Court and his sureties were bonded a sh50m not cash.   

Kananura was yet to regain freedom for he still faces a fraud case at Buganda Road Court.

Kananura is accused of murdering his former employee Badru Kateregga, at his Panamera Bar and Restaurant in Naguru. He however denies the charges.

City Hall Grade I Magistrate Juliet Hatang remanded Kananura to Luzira.  

Kananura, who is the prime suspect in the case together with three others, is alleged to have tortured Kateregga to death over a sh30,000 tip he got from customers last October.

Other suspects are Cyrus Maganda, Samuel Muzulewa and Jacob Onyango. The three were charged with murder and granted court bail.
