Harunah Kebba has finally agreed terms with Simba FC for him to coach the UPDF football team for the next two years. Kebba replaces Fred Kajoba who was sacked early in the month.

Simba FC officials said on Thursday that they had chosen Kebba for the job ahead of others including Frank Anyau, Simba FC goalkeeper trainer Stephen Kiggundu and assistant coach Frank Ssebaggala.

He will be unveiled to the team when the director of sports in UPDF, Brigadier Hussein Ada, who is out of the country returns.

When contacted Kebba himself said that, “I can now confirm that they are taking me on. We have agreed on the issue that was setting us back but I don’t wish to discuss terms of our agreements.”

Simba FC chairman Lt Col. Badru Kigwe also confirmed the decision but referred New Vision to his secretary Isaac Jurugo who could not pick our phone calls for most of day.

In an earlier interview, Jurugo explained that, “we are already in talks with people who have proven competitiveness. We want someone who can compete for trophies.”

Kebba won the national beach soccer league with Kira Young BSC in their debut season and currently handles newcomers in the national beach soccer league YMCA BSC which has an unbeaten run of four matches so far.

Simba’s next two UPL matches will be against former champions URA and Express FC tomorrow (October 18) and ten days later respectively. They are currently seventh on the 16-team UPL table.
